Extra as usual, Fred Vidal was Actor, Downtown LA in September, for several weekends of Shooting Action Scenes, On 2 prestigious sets directed by Christopher NOLAN (INCEPTION with Facebook friend Leo DI CAPRIO) and the French Michel GONDRY (THE GREEN HORNET with Cameron DIAZ, friend last year on Myspace). GREAT MEMORIES, he wants to share with you because professionals tell him, most of the time, that he doesn’t manage his Filmography well enough (great feature scene on THE GREEN HORNET). The shooting with Christopher Nolan was one of Fred VIDAL’s Best Experiences With SPIELBERG’s THE TERMINAL.

A Signature that represents the way to follow to solve the crisis
Keynes was a British economist, one of the most influential of the 20th century.
John Maynard Keynes was born on 5 June 1883 in Cambridge into a well-to-do academic family. His father was an economist and a philosopher, his mother became the town’s first female mayor. Suitably stimulated, he excelled academically at Eton as well as Cambridge University, where he studied mathematics. He also became friends with members of the Bloomsbury group of intellectuals and artists.
After graduating, Keynes went to work in the India Office, and simultaneously managed to work on a dissertation – often during office hours – which earned him a fellowship at King’s College. In 1908, he quit the civil service and returned to Cambridge. Following the outbreak of World War One, Keynes joined the treasury, and in the wake of the Versailles peace treaty, he published ‘The Economic Consequences of the Peace’, in which he criticised the exorbitant war reparations demanded from a defeated Germany and prophetically predicted a German revenge. The best-selling book made him world famous.
During the inter-war years, Keynes amassed a considerable personal fortune from the financial markets and, as bursar of King’s College, greatly improved the college’s financial position. He became a prominent arts patron and board member of a number of companies. In 1926 he married Lydia Lopokova, a Russian ballerina.
Keynes’ best-known work, ‘The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money’, was published in 1936, and became a benchmark for future economic thought. It also secured his position as Britain’s most influential economist, and with the advent of World War Two, he again worked for the treasury. In 1942, he was made a member of the house of lords.
During the war years, Keynes played a decisive role in the negotiations that were to shape the post-war international economic order. In 1944, he led the British delegation to the Bretton Woods conference in America. At the conference he played a significant part in the planning of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. He died on 21 April 1946.

- “At this time, regarding the fact that this project is creating a networking event, it’s necessary to stay close spiritually of my masters and inspirations, my best directors friends, on www.myspace.com/fredvidal, and first, principally, Mr. Steven Spielberg, my friend #1 on the Web, by sharing the same attitude of social professionalism and cultural proactivity.
This music video is already a film and we work on the story board with friends because music is passion and Rock is emotion and since yesterday (first publication of this article), we are receiving calls and web messages to express support and interest.
So, I decide to conceive now that project as a 15-20 minutes short including the 3 minutes videogram (like Michael jackson did for THRILLER). I publish on this blog a short communique in French to give the important detail that a part of the shooting will be produced in studio and realized with computerized 3d imagery in order not to develop the idea that The Promenade des Anglais and other Nice Streets could be stopped for shootings for too long.
BUT, WE HOPE WE WILL PRODUCE THE WHOLE THING IN FRANCE (NICE) IN ORDER TO WORK WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES (FOR SHOOTING ON LOCATION PLUS STUDIO AND 3D) AND DEVELOP TIES WITH AMERICA (HOLLYWOOD).

i just read that Philippe Starck will stop Design in 2 years. I’m sad about that but his choice is smart choice if he feels it as a designer first. He’s one of the greatest of them all and I’m proud to be his Friend as you can see on my Main Page of MySpace.com
So, Philippe, in 2 years or before, you can join my Punk 1977 band BRAMSTOCKER, we always look for a good pianist, I mean electronic keyboards, it’s computerized and about SOUND DESIGN, I’m sure your genius could do marvelous things with our guitars and drums. It’s a serious invitation but let’s have a break before to think more about it because music is like fruits and vegetables, it needs the right season. I was invited and on location in this huge Paris Stadium for the finale of the World Cup 1998 and Zinedine wrote that day (and many other days) his name in the History of the Soccer game (that we call FOOTBALL in France).

The new Internet requires a permanent control and flexibility of your communication, on a daily basis: everything is public and linked. For us, our objective is NETWORKING and PROMOTING and our favorite sites (and most important friends, Web or not) are (on) MySpace and Facebook. I write that at the highest corporate level: our galaxy of websites and Web Memberships are in the same mood and web philosophy than the 2 Web Communities leaders. We believe in nothing else, regarding the Web, I mean for our personal, professional and commercial strategy. It’s the future, it’s today.
CONSEQUENTLY, I decide this morning:
- UNIQUE HOMEPAGE for all my Web Addresses/Websites, for one Month:

Frankly speaking, websites are 99% homepages and external links for an efficient participation in the Web 2.0 and even for everybody on the WWW, people have not the time anymore to ‘visit’ (?) your site like a house, except if it’s a small flat (3-5 pages), useful for technical reasons. Even for companies, I advice websites must be clarified, simplificated a lot and connected to commercial communities on the Web. It depends also of your strategy, ours is to be present on a maximum of platforms, as I said to network and build the future together, not a Crowd(y) one but a Mass one (Mass like for Mass Media with Social as the additional word, I propose the words: SOCIAL MASS MEDIA).
So I just told you: UNIQUE AND SAME HOMEPAGE for all my Web Addresses/Websites, for one Month (November) or a little more. Specialized homepages back in December, during the Holiday Season, upgraded and signed, one month before, definitive 2009 Pages (with a lot of improvement, simplification but in the same style for a new year).
Everybody visit my sites during the last 2 months and this is great (thank you), we need to give you more as a message: 2009 will be a SUCCESS, for instance!! And it is what we are doing already beginning this morning (10/29/08) of changes with only the www.french-cop.com Press PR Web File and pages, fully operational this Saturday, linked and accessible through our collection of addresses and networks.
Why? Because this is our Challenge: the impact of our Press/Media Campaign and because, also, this will be for November and December, the best way to understand and appreciate my work and my participation in the Internet, today at the end of 2008. Cover changes for every issue of a magazine, Film sagas include different stories, posters and news.
So, I told you: no more owned pages anymore than the PRESS FILE (other pages come back, gradually, upgraded in December as a preview of January and 2009) on our web addresses and linked sites. On the other hand, more memberships, if possible, because we’re already on so many social sites, I mean cultural, networking sites called Membersip or community sites and it’s great.
Regarding Politics, as I said on www.twitter.com/fredvidal, 10 minutes ago, nothing more will be written by me beginning now. Floating voters already did their choice, my main message and the introduction message have been diffused and read everywhere, more would be overcommunicating. Plus, there won’t be new Fred Vidal Political Article before Mid-November. It’s my civic, patriotic and personal program, let’s watch the TV, appreciate to go to vote, enjoy the results, I’m not a professional politician or specialized journalist, I’m a Citizen and a Web well known person, who wanted to communicate about the dangers to prevent for our future, now it’s done and a success, it was well appreciated. I will wait 3 weeks before to write my feedbacks. Anyway, I’m too busy with my Press Release preparation, diffusion and management. There are not 13 months in 2008, and sincerely, I think, voters did their choice (you know what is mine!!!!!) and I’m about to do the video for youtube.com tomorrow for history and young voters first in order to promote the fact that to go to vote is crucial because in America we have this problem about absenteism, even for registered people.
Ok, you know everything, but it’s the same for the blogs. This blog won’t have a lot of updates beginning now, I suppose, because we create a new blog on wordpress to concentrate ALL about the PR-Promotional and Pedagogical webFile about our Products, not yet commercialized guys, we start-up, next year is the year, must be a strong commitment now, products in development and pre-production. It’s a new Feature Film project for Nice, France (La Victorine Studios), already included in the GRASSROOTS 2 PROGRAM and the Official MODERNSCOPE INC List of Films (Press Communique) and a Homage to Charles Boyer, the magnifique French and American Hollywood Actor from the 1930’s to the 1970’s (Fred will look like him in the Movie, playing an ambitious actor dreaming to be the next Boyer in the Nice of the 1960’s and its huge and emblematic City Casino, closed in 1969, where Fred Vidal used to be every week when he was a kid, thanks to his Aunt, manager of the Casino’s Music Hall and Night Club).

Rappelons que Frederic Vidal (Fred Vidal) est un ancien fonctionnaire de la Caisse des depots et consignations (CDC) ou il fut pendant 15 Attache d’Administration Centrale de l’Etat sur des fonctions de communication puis de recherches historiques. Dans le meme temps et depuis 1977, il poursuivra une carriere d’auteur-compositeur, membre de la SACEM et de la SACD, en France jusqu’en 2003. A cette date, il immigrera aux Etats-Unis pour continuer sa vie d’artiste et maintenant de chef d’entreprise, sous le signe d’Hollywood (Hollywoodland) ou il reside et travaille dans le cinema et la musique ainsi que pour des actions de solidarite et de networking professionnel (Rotary, Toastmasters, Chambres de Commerce, Social Media). Il a la double nationalite francaise et americaine. Frederic est membre aux Etats-Unis de la SAG, AFTRA, AFM – Local 47 et beaucoup d’autres organisations. Biography of the Artist
Interior Designer in California, Fashion Specialist for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and Retailer for the U.S. Air Force in Germany, Candice Johnson began studying and practicing Fine Art when she settled down in Paris, beginning 1992 and for 10 years.
Member of several Artists Groups in the Worldwide Capitale of Contemporary Art (with New York and London), she decided in 1997 to focus only on one Subject meaning exploring the Face of the Human Being (she previously paint and draw admirable female nudity and other compositions, natures mortes).
Relocated in California, in the 2000’s because she missed her Country, she is still in touch with the Paris of her dreams and continues, below the Hollywood Sign where she lives, the paintings of the invisible but historic residents of Menilmontant, Belleville, Pere Lachaise neighborhoods, between La Bastille et La Republique and close to Le Vieux Marais for an imaginary promenade, from face to face, her Parisians are happy in America now and ready to enjoy your home and give you an original and authentic decoration, of a great value.

Candice Johnson Art will participate, on more time, in a successful Auction Sale in April 2009 in Paris, organized in the prestigious Hotel Drouot where already the Artist sold many paintings at a very good price since 1998. Dear Friends:
I have now my own Social Network and more than that with ning.com and a special website too. I knew that something was missing in my Web networking, it was: FRED VIDAL UNIVERSITY (FVU).
Since last year, I have hundreds of new friends on Myspace.com and this year on Facebook and a lot also on some other community sites. I think it’s great. But I want to know you better now because friendship is not a word with no sense. It means a lot to me about sharing support, communication and solidarity. Most of the time, we are connected to cultural matters when we join these community sites as we are artists, entrepreneurs, creators or we just want some fun sometimes without something to promote.
It’s the reason why I am inviting you today to my own social network (FVU), my personal community in order to develop our friendship, probably by appreciating your feedbacks about my work and giving you mine if you need it, certainly by following better each other. I’m a PhD researcher in Communication Studies and I have a good experience in culture businesses. For this first Thanksgiving Week of the Opening Session of FRED VIDAL UNIVERSITY, Fred Vidal, PhD, decides not to renew his membership right now or to participate actively in the Chambers of Commerce of Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Century City, until next Spring, still waiting for the Reactivation of the EIBC – Entertainment Industry Business Council, an Inter-Chambers Committee still in hiatus, after the organization of a great Luncheon at the Roosevelt Hotel in 2006 in Hollywood about ‘The New Colors of Money’. “This Council can be very useful for our coordination and empowerment, I hope it will be working again very soon“.
For now and until next Spring, Fred Vidal is focusing only on the LOS ANGELES AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (FRENCH COP LLC membership) and will improve his involvement beginning December with the Chamber. Regarding the corporation of the Fred Vidal Entertainment Group, Modernscope Inc, and the project, since the Summer 2007, of a collaboration for movie shootings on location in this area, Modernscope Inc is about to join the PALM SPRINGS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE for networking and business partnerships. It will be the one and only participation of the New York based company in a Chamber of Commerce.

Interior Designer in California, previous buyer for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and European marketing consultant for Danskin, Candice Johnson began studying and working as a Fine Artist in 1992 when she moved to Paris. She remained for eleven years absorbing the soul of the City of Lights.
After painting still lifes and nudes she decided in 1997 to focus on one tributary, searching for the source: The Tete. In French the Tete signifies both the head and the visage. Through color, texture and gestural paint strokes she captures the emotions that linger under the surface. Our fragility, strength, tenderness, hopes and fears. Her Tetes are always presented in a square format. As in a Buddhist Mandala the square represents the material space with paths to exit at the four corners while the Tete as the circle or soul remains the timeless center.
She relocated to California in 2003 to be an American in America, though she is still in touch with the Paris of her dreams and imagination. Candice has begun again to paint Tetes, below the Hollywood Sign where she lives in a historical and magical Hollywood Hills home that she has renovated. The Tetes remain familiar but somewhat foreign maybe they are the invisible but past residents of Menilmontant, Belleville and Pere Lachaise of Paris or perhaps they are something else entirely.
Candice Johnson is a listed artist as her art has been sold at the prestigious Parisian auction house of Hotel Drouot at a semi annually auction of Emerging Contemporary French Artists since 2001. Her next auction will be in April 2009. She has had over 40 exhibitions in France and is in the collections of many notable European Art Collectors and American Art Collector Blake Byrne.
Her work is uncommonly contemporary but is stamped with artistic traditions. Her energy and force could be compared to Expressionism, her color usage to the Fauvists. Her deformations of the Tete could be described as Picassoesque. Her ability to dig deep and release the child archetype when she paints can be viewed in the naïve Art Brut style of Jean Dubuffet. Her usage of taking a single subject and multiplying it to make an expanded story can be found in Pop Art. How ever you define or interpret her work it is unique, compelling and touching and truly her own.
Medium Acrylics, Inks, Pastels, Collage. All Tetes Normale are painted on paper and then marouflaged on carton or wood. Each Tete has its own frame similar to a studio canvas with the sides painted black.

Artist Statement
When I paint words, ego and the desire to please the world disappear. I paint to capture a memory of a vague feeling, perhaps a universal dream. I use the face, visage, or Tete as the vehicle to express these known but indefinable emotions that emerge from my gut. I put the brush down and begin to observe the Tetes. The ones I choose or work on further are those Tetes that begin to talk to me or put more simply: the ones that make me feel. The others that have no life are turned upside down or sideways and painted over giving texture and substance to the next Tete that will appear.
What is interesting?
Candice Johnson goes against the contemporary convention of large formats. Her Tetes Normales are 20 centimeters square (7.75”). The Collector participates in the creation of their own unique work as they will choose the Tetes that “talk to them” and then decide their placement as a group. Collectors purchase one or a hundred Tetes to create their own personal tableau of emotions. Candice also wants her art to be affordable and this concept of small formats allows beginning collectors to own her work and add Tetes as their budget permits.

A man and a woman had the plan to get married next year.
He was a hunter, she was the princess of their tribe in Africa, in the 17th Century.
He was unlucky, captured by a team of European Slave Dealers.
In America, he is sold as a slave to work for a rich farmer in Louisiana.
He succeeds, after a while, to go back to New York City with several friends.
On location, they steal a Slaver (boat) to go back to Africa.
After a difficult and long trip on the Atlantic Ocean, they are back on their Continent.
It’s a couple of years after he left his tribe and the Princess is not anymore there.
Protected by another tribe, she will finally meets him again.
Their legend will be a secret but a famous one all over the Continent and worldwide, forever and ever.

Sometimes, you find and get new friends on the Web, sometimes you are one more time in touch with old ones and it’s great. Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, France is one of the newest friends of Fred on Facebook , even if this friendship began more than 25 years ago on the French Riviera where Fred Vidal, PhD was a Radio Reporter and a Campaign Worker for the Party of Christian Estrosi.

Picture: Actors can be producers! But SAG needs to do more for its members in order to make them being respected and attractive as background performers. This is social, this is a Key-Issue of the Crisis and the Possible Strike. You cannot criticize the producers if you don’t offer more Solidarity for your own members.
As an actor, still working as a Background Player, even if he is already a successful producer-screenwriter thanks to the Internet, Fred Vidal, PhD will explain his position regarding the project of strike by the Screen Actors Guild by criticizing both the producers and the union.
Regarding the Producers
Regarding the Producers, not only the majors, and their organizations, it makes no sense that they don’t share a part of the solidarity and hope that they expressed, most of the time, by supporting Barack Obama. No sign of professional progress for the crucial business of the Industry: ACTING, it’s supporting the process of crisis in our Country, taking the risk of a bigger depression (economical, psychological) and a deeper recession.
Actors are the spokesperson on the screen of the regular people since Jimmy Stewart, and they are their heroes. Treating them like loosers, it’s treating the moviegoers in a bad way and treating themselves (the producers) like if they are disconnected from the reality of the industry. To do just a little could have been fantastic but they decided to do… nothing, these producers, and consequently, THEY CRITICIZE THEMSELVES because Hollywood is not a FACTORY but a FAMILY business that they are breaking publicly, showing they don’t understand Culture to respect and Profit to share. Do we need a new historic strike after the screenwriters one?
What is broken in this Hollywood that is a sign of fraternity and respect for the human kind of workers and consumers in every country and for every generation?
Regarding the Screen Actors Guild
Regarding the Screen Actors Guild, Fred Vidal, PhD will explain, in his last video on Youtube for 2008, that the status quo about the Background Actors is not acceptable anymore inside the Guild.

I want to do something against that Union with no (principal) work.” FV (12/11/08) “PS: I’m a happy fellow as a producer-screenwriter, guys, don’t misunderstand me, against that union means against that dysfunction of that union. I’m really ’lucky’ to have the card but there is a reform to organize for actors to build their career in an Union way WITH SOLIDARITY… Everybody knows that to get a great agent, you need to be recommended (by another client-actor, the best), WHO RECOMMENDS WHO?? It’s about life, it’s about work. It’s about OUR life, it’s about OUR work. SAG is AFL-CIO, we need RULES, and to know the present RULES in an AFL-CIO way (I will develop in my letter to the President and will let you know)“. AFL-CIO IS a voluntary federation of 56 national and international labor unions and represents workers from all walks of life.
This subject must be a crucial one: WITH THE CRISIS, WITH THE RISK OF STRIKE, WE NEED A NEW historic PROFESSIONAL DEAL INSIDE THE GUILD FOR EVERYBODY MANAGEMENT OF HIS/HER CAREER in a very special business: ACTING and Fred Vidal will write a letter to Alan Rosenberg, President of SAG, next week, about it. The project of strike depends on a vote in January. We are Mid-December and it is the right time to speak about the majority of the Guild members (we need statistics), who do Background that is a very important job on the sets but that needs improvement, empowerment and promotion by and from the Screen Actors Guild in order:
- to give a better image of its non-famous members and their profession,
- to offer them new and better ways of building a strategy of career,
- to study for them a more protected and confortable environment and
- to make them more attractive and appreciated by casting directors, talent agents and film directors and producers.
It is clear that this issue is one of the questions that must studied inside the present conflict, even if it is a shame that it does not seem already on the list of the negotiation points. If SAG cannot study and prepare a better status and type of career for background artists as BACKGROUD ARTISTS, Fred Vidal, PhD will propose the creation of a special Union for that type of performers, in January already.
SAG criticizes the producers consortium because not enough: social and actor’s rights oriented. This is true. But SAG doesn’t give the good and right example to follow by letting a majority of its members in a non-winning process, without helping them to reinforce their background actors status and by doing nothing (or not enough anyway) to organize a teamwork and a structure of professionalisation to make them begin the 2nd step of their career, meaning speaking roles.
This is a lot of critics! But we did not begin that process, and in an Union: let’s speak frankly because we don’t want this 1929 mood to continue too much in America and SAG is a part of AFL-CIO that has obviously some of the keys to begin the Post-Crisis Era very soon. AFL-CIO means a lot for us.
The Creation in January 2009 of a Studies Mission for Background Actors Empowerment, with Fred Vidal, PhD available to work on it, will be proposed to Alan Rosenberg and Doug Allen, Executive Director by Fred in his public letter to the President of the Screen Actors Guild ‘About the Strike and the Background’.
Part 2: Fred Back in France? Yes and No.
Fred Vidal, PhD back in France because of the Crisis: NO and NO. THIS IS A 2006 PROJECT, already scheduled in 2003 during the networking of Operation Grassroots 1 (immigration in the United States with, previously, the building of definitive relationships with Nice, Fred’s hometown and France, Country of his first career as a Civil Servant specialized in Communication, for a commercial partnership whith his American business, when ready: meaning NOW).
